One!

My Dear Aubrey Rose,

Wednesday you turned ONE!
One, as in:
  • 12 months
  • 52 weeks
  • 365 days
  • 8,765.81 hours
  • 525,949 minutes
Sheesh! Yesterday was such a mixture of emotions. They ranged somewhere between happy and sad all day long. I was fine at work, bragging to my customers that it was my daughter's birthday. And I could not wait to get home to you. But as soon as I turned the corner and pulled into the drive way I couldn't stop the tears.

Anyway, your party is still about a couple of weeks away but we went ahead and got you a cupcake. You LOVED it!

You:
  • Still have four teeth! I could have sworn that you would have more but Mama was wrong!
  • You have taken three steps on your own to date and you looked ever so cute doing it
  • You can say "hi"
  • I swear you can say "I love you"
  • You love playing with the phone. You often pick it up and say "hi!"
  • You love music
  • You LOVE Yo Gabba Gabba and the Backyardigans
  • You give the best hugs, hands down.
  • You love taking things out and putting them back again.
  • You are not too picky of an eater, except for green beans!
Oh my girl, I love you so much!

I cannot believe that a year has passed. I have learned so much about life and love, most of which I thought I already knew.

No one every told me I could love so much, so relentlessly. You are my heart and my soul and I wouldn't trade a single second for anything in this world.

I am so excited for your birthday party! Get ready, my Bird; you are about to be showered with so much love.

I love you more than a million gummi bears.

Love always,

Mama

Eleven

My Dear Aubrey Rose,

How is it possible that I am typing your ELEVEN MONTH letter? Didn't I just finish your ten month? Oh wait, I did because I posted it a few weeks late. Oops.

Oh, my little love. I was browsing through you photos as a tiny little thing and my, have you changed! I cannot get a grip on the fact that you have lost some much of your baby chub - it is incredible.

I cannot think of anything to say that I haven't already told you or written to you. There is so much to say and I cannot for the life of me get it all down.

So, for now, let's talk about the new thing you have been up to....

  • You have four teeth!
  • You have another pair just under the surface!
  • You have attempted to take your first unassisted step and you fell right on your little booty
  • You met Emma! She is a very good friend of mine's daughter and you two hit it off.
  • You still hate green beans. The other nite Papa tried to sneak one to you and you had it in your mouth for all of two seconds before you pulled it out and threw it on the floor!
  • You are starting to climb things
  • You LOVE looking outside. You could sit in front of the window for hours if we let you
There isn't anything too new going on. But it seems that you are becoming this little sponge and is ready to absorb anything and everything. I should take that back. You have always been a little sponge but I, I don't know. I am at a loss for words...

Sigh.

Birthday party planning is in full swing right now. I have all of the details worked out in my mind but we don't really know a whole lot of children to invite....so I guess it'll be more for the adults in your life : )

Oh man, Aubrey. Watching you grow has been so bittersweet for me. I cannot imagine my life without you.

Since I have been staring at the screen for five minutes I guess I will keep this short and sweet...

I love you, I love you, I love you.

Love,
Mama

P.S. Can you believe the next time I write you will be a whole year old?!? Oh my gosh.

Moe Currently

Listening: The Real Housewives of Miami - I don't really care for this one but it's on and I am ADDICTED to horrible reality TV

Eating: Nothing - But, Papa is making Thai Pork Sandwiches and I cannot wait! It smells Amazing

Drinking: Water! Life of the breastfeeding mama!

Wearing: Pre-Pregnancy sweats and my trusty black vneck

Feeling: Exhausted! We took Aub to Roy's softball game and that girl is on a mission, trying to be all big girl like and walk

Wanting: A massage..."Oh Roy!? Rub my back...?"

Needing: To shower : (

Thinking: About last night. Aubrey's first Halloween was fun. We went to my parent's house and helped pass out candy. Each Little that I saw I couldn't help but imagine what the next Halloween will look like.

My View: A messy house...no photo!
