2.5, An Update
Well, it has finally happened, I have lost two followers. Not that I was waiting about and not posting just to see what would happen but life happens, as it always does and I suppose people got sick of it. I can't say that I am not a little bit sad and disappointed (in myself!) but it is what it is and it is time to move forward, shall we?
So, my rambunctious Bird had her six month well baby visit on Monday. Yes, I know, she is seven and half months (where does the time go?) but we made it nonetheless. She got a clean bill of health and Dr. Sun said she most likely will be crawling and waving "bye bye" by the time her nine month checkup comes around. *Cue the tears*
She got two shots that she took like a champ and only fussed for a moment or two before she resumed her regular cooing and smiling at everyone who looked her way.
Here is all 18.45 pounds and 25 inches of my precious Bird:

What?
You mean to tell me all of this glorious crinkly paper isn't mine to rip apart?
I love this girl with all my might but as many of us mommas do I have been struggling like mad about my post baby body. I have sat around and cried about it to anyone who would listen. I envied every mom with a great body that has crossed my path.
So what did I do?
I hired a personal trainer! I used to work at 24 Hour Fitness so I knew exactly who I wanted to work with. Let's just say that Nicole is more than worth the money I paid and I absolutely love that she pushes me to my breaking point. I downloaded an app to help me track my calories and I have been working with her two to three times a week. And guess what? I have lost 2.5 pounds in nine days!! I feel great already, not enough to to bare my bod at the beach but it is a start. I have about 30 pounds to lose and I can't wait to see how I will look and feel.
The baby is stirring. Here is to more updates and hopefully not losing any more of you.

Seven
Oh Aubrey,
My little Bird. I have stopped calling you my Little Monster because it was a nickname that your father and I gave you and it was an inside secret sort of thing. And what do you know, your Papa's parents pitched a fit about us calling you a monster for the longest time. And guess what? They now call you Monster. Sigh. It makes me unhappy but it's fine because secretly I called you my Bird from the beginning. You see, before we knew you were a girl I couldn't get a bird themed nursery out of my head. I even began painting little wooden bird houses. Remember all of those little chats we would have on the drive to work each morning? We would listen to "Lullaby" by the Dixie Chicks and I would call you my Bird.
Anyway, you are now seven months and four days old. I can't believe how fast this year is going. Someone the other day asked if I have started planning your first birthday - I gave them "the eye" and said I was in denial.
We missed your six month appointment so next Monday we will go to the doctor and get your stats.
You have been eating solids for a little while and you like: eggs, sweet potato, strawberries, apples, bananas, nectarines, baby puff cereal, baby cookies, pasta, cheese, ice cream (Papa!), berry smoothies and cucumbers. We started out with purees and decided that finger foods are the best for you.
You definitely did NOT like green beans!
You have been able to sit up very well for awhile now. Now your newest thing is trying to pull yourself up and stand. You also have been pulling yourself up onto your hands and knees and rock like you are about to take off! I know crawling and/or walking is right around the corner and I have been trying to start baby proofing! So far we have moved our stone coffee table out of the way and I have been moving all of the cords out of your reach.
You babble all of the time and sometimes I can swear you say mama and it melts my heart.
People are starting to ask when we are going to have another one and expand our little family. To be honest, I am starting to wonder that, too. But I have had issues with the way you were brought into this world that I feel I need to sort out first. Don't get me wrong, I would never trade your story for anything and I am incredibly grateful that you were born alive and healthy. And I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to give you a baby brother or sister but I think we are going to sit this one out for a bit. I want to give you my undivided attention.
I love you so much, my little Bird. You are the light of my life.
I can't wait to see what this month bring us!
Love,
Mama

Gotta Love It
Aubrey's seven month letter/photo shoot have been postponed due to this:
Aubrey has been sick. We are talking low grade fever, refusing to eat a couple of times, runny booger nose, drool for days and a slight cough. I don't know if it is a cold or if she is teething. Of course being the "I am Googling it right now" person that I am I know that the cold and teething have the same symptoms.
It all happened so quickly. On the Fourth of July she was as happy as can be and we went to go hang out with some close family friends. Some of our friends who also have children were there as well. I noticed that their little one had a bit of a runny nose. Now, I know that I cannot keep my little Bird in a bubble forever but I am kicking myself for not putting two and two together when the kids were touching and playing with Aubrey.
Ugh, the last two days have been awful. Thursday I got two hours of sleep and then had to get up and work a ten hour shift. Last night I felt like we reverted back to when Aub was first born, up every single hour. Fortunately I have a long weekend due to the holiday so we have been trying every holistic approach to teething and colds.
Today she woke up and had snot for days to which I tried to suction out. Let me tell you, that girl is a fighter! She tried with all of her might to push my hands away, she hates the booger getter!
This is what we got after an amazing hour and a half long nap:
You cannot deny that that is a SMILE, guys!
Note the HUGE pile of laundry that needs to be folded and put away
Look at all of that drool!
Fingers crossed that she is getting better. Hopefully I can get her letter and shoot done and posted soon!
